Assessments
Initial assessments
Each assessment is carried out by a CCT-holding consultant psychiatrist and includes a full written report. The fee is payable whether or not a diagnosis is made.
Seen online by video, or in person at our clinic in Peterborough. Titration and annual reviews are online, so treatment continues from home once an assessment is done.

What is included
Every assessment fee covers the pre-assessment questionnaires, the appointment itself with a consultant psychiatrist, the written report, and a letter to your GP where you consent to one. There is no separate charge for the report.
What is not included

Including the honest answer about whether there is a cheaper route.
The assessment fee is payable whether or not a diagnosis is made. You are paying for the assessment itself — a consultant’s time, the questionnaires, the interview and a written report — and that work is the same either way. A thorough assessment that finds you do not have ADHD or autism is a useful answer, not a wasted one: it rules something out, and the report will say what we think is going on instead and what might help.
Medication is dispensed by a pharmacy and paid for separately, at the pharmacy’s price. As a guide, private ADHD medication typically costs somewhere in the region of £30–£120 per month depending on the drug and dose. Once shared care transfers to your NHS GP, you pay standard NHS prescription charges instead — which is one of the reasons we pursue shared care.
If you intend to claim, always confirm cover with your insurer before booking — many policies exclude neurodevelopmental assessment specifically.
In full, by card, when you book. Your appointment is confirmed as soon as the payment goes through, and we email you to say so. Any medicine we prescribe is paid for separately, at the pharmacy.
You can cancel or move an appointment free of charge up to 48 hours before it starts. With less notice, or if you do not attend, the fee is not refunded. Consultant appointments are held exclusively for you, which is why notice matters. The full policy, including your legal right to cancel within 14 days, is in our terms and conditions.
Yes, and we would rather tell you than not. In England, NHS Right to Choose lets you select an NHS-funded provider for a first outpatient appointment at no cost to you, though waiting times vary considerably. If cost is the deciding factor, that route is worth investigating first. What we offer is speed and seniority, not a cheaper version of the same thing.
That is the intended path. Once you are stable on treatment we request a shared-care agreement, and if your practice accepts, ongoing prescriptions move to the NHS at standard prescription charges. Shared care is discretionary for every practice, so we cannot promise it — but our reports are written to give it the best chance.
