The short version
- We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
- If anything on the website, in our patient portal or about how appointments work is hard for you, tell us - we will find another way.
1.This website
We have designed and built this website to be usable by as many people as possible. For example:
- Text and buttons are chosen to meet contrast guidelines, and pages can be zoomed to 200% without losing content.
- Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Pages use proper headings, labelled forms and descriptive links, so they work with screen readers.
- Moving content - the pictures at the top of the home page - can be paused, and does not move at all if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Nothing flashes, and nothing times out while you are reading or filling in a form.
- The language is plain, and pages are broken up so they can be read in short sections.
2.Parts that may not be fully accessible
- Patient reviews are shown by Doctify, another company. We cannot change how their review panels are built.
- Our patient portal is a separate site. We are checking it against the same standard.
- Video appointments use Microsoft Teams, which has its own accessibility features, including live captions.
3.Adjustments for appointments
Many of the people we see find some things about appointments harder than others, and that is part of why they come to us. Tell us what would help - for example:
- more time, or a break partway through
- someone you trust joining you
- questions or information in writing, in advance or afterwards
- captions turned on during the video call
- a different way to take part if video does not work for you
You can tell us when you book, or at any time before your appointment.
4.Tell us about a problem
If you find something hard to use, or need information in a different format, email hello@plexuspsychiatry.com or call 07961 489450. We will reply within 5 working days. If you are not happy with our response, you can use our complaints procedure. How we handle your details is in our privacy notice.
